Arts Award & Artsmark
We fully support and promote Arts Council England’s two national awards – Arts Award and Artsmark. These awards celebrate young people’s engagement with the arts, providing a range of diverse opportunities for them to explore their creative skills.
Why is this work important?
Arts Award and Artsmark provide frameworks for learning and sharing new skills, strengthening the quality of an arts offer. They provide unique links between children and young people and a wide range of artists and other creative professionals, all of which makes a real and lasting difference to their lives.
How do we make it happen?
Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification for 11–25’s accredited by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England. We play an important role in promoting this award as a licensed training provider, training partners across the sector such as youth workers, teachers and artists who work with young people and want to become an Arts Awards Adviser. By the end of the day you will be equipped to support people 11-25 to achieve their Bronze and Silver Arts Awards.
In response to a huge demand for an Arts Award for younger people aged 7 upwards, Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England is running a wide-reaching national pilot. We are involved in the pilot training programme and are pleased to announce that we will be delivering training for this exciting new award.

Artsmark
Artsmark is Arts Council England’s national award for schools, further education colleges and youth justice settings, ensuring access to high quality, broad and sustainable arts provision for children and young people. Gaining an Artsmark at any level shows that a setting is committed to the wider development of young people.
At CFC we play a vital role as a national training provider for Artsmark. In addition Viv West has also been appointed an Artsmark assessor and moderator in 2012.
Artsmark enables the sector to:
- celebrate the engagement and achievements of young people
- serve as an excellent measure of arts provision in and out of curriculum time
- develop partnerships with professional artists and organisations
- embed arts development as an integral part of wider improvement plan
After ten successful years and over 10,000 Artsmark awards, Artsmark took a gap year to refresh the scheme. Artsmark is happy to be back - with a new online application system and welcoming a wider range of organisations to apply, including further education colleges and youth justice settings.Artsmark now focuses not only on the quantity of arts provision, but the impact and quality outcomes of your arts offer, through a redesigned two-part application.
The deadline for Round 12 Artsmark applications is now closed but keep checking the Artsmark website for details about the next round.
