Creative Practice :
My own practice is based on photography and drawing, especially using chalk pastels. I am interested in story telling, everyday objects and expressing the complexities of mental health issues. I also use printmaking techniques and paint. I exhibit around Carlisle and have exhibited abroad. It is currently my intention to expand my art practice as my main occupation.
Education Practice :
I am a qualified teacher of secondary art and design with over 3 years experience teaching the 11 to 18 age group. I have taught ceramics, printmaking, textiles, sculpture, painting in all media, textiles, graphic design and have worked alongside artists in residence. I part completed the CAE artists in schools mentoring scheme in 2005 but unfortunately could not finish it due to a move to Canada. I have organised and led art workshops in Canada for children aged 6 to 12 and examples of work created with children can be seen on this specially made website: www.rfa-teaching.moonfruit.com
